6 Of The Best Backlink Directories
When an SEO professional, I often hear from customers who previously paid them big bucks for access to local business directories like YellowPages.com or eLocalListing ads. These services are often sold in boiler rooms, and the bulk of the fees of the uninformed customers pay for sales commissions.
When people ask me, “is a paid advertisement YellowPages.com worth?” Do I always reply, “Is YellowPages.com exceeding Newbury Business? As a Newbury Business Directory listing is free.” That’s not really fair answer, because YP.com not deserve some traffic, and doing free offers. Here are a some of free local business directories that can get you backlinks, web traffic and customers. Here is a list of our favorites, and we use the following SEO services for our customers.
This list shows the top free business directories.
1. Google Local. The undisputed king of all local business directories. If you are not here, your competition, and you miss valuable customers who are looking to you every day. Surprising that a number of local companies still do not have a Google Local listing. We wrote about the importance of this function, the Power of Google Local search to improve.
2. Yahoo Local. Yahoo Local is a major local folder that enjoy high page rank. So a business listing here is very good search engine ranking. Go here (http://listings.local.yahoo.com/csubmit/index.php) to add a list. Lists are manually reviewed and accounts for over one month to appear in the directory.
3. Hotfrog.com. Home bills itself as “Your USA Business Directory.” The offers good grade, and the site is attractive, are well within the boundaries of Web 2.0 style. HotFrog is easy to use and the offers appear almost immediately.
4. Yelp.com. Yelp is popular (a reasonable number of visitors) and its pages rank well in search engines. Yes, a listing here might earn you some additional results in a Google search. It is research-based, and there are a lot of “interactive” features you will want to skip if you just want for your business. Valuable and free. One limitation: Yelp does not dofollow (pagerank is a valuable link to the target site) backlinks.
5. YellowPages.com. YellowPages.com makes our list of reservations. It’s hard to find even the free listing link on the site, you squint at the bottom of the left navigation. While a limited free entry is available, you will be forced to avoid paying service places along the road. If your business is a dot-com (as in TastyPlacement.com) you will have the suffix-closed website addresses are not allowed as business names. Yes, we are in the YP.com directory as “tasty placement.” Other Issues: a complicated registration is required (no doubt to feed leads to the YP sales force, and yes, she’ll call you) and the offer is only valid for 12 months.
6. Kudzu.com. Kudzu, such as YellowPages.com, is much more maintenance. Yet it is a large, highly respected national business that offers free permits. You need to sign, and again, expect to be mounted on a paid business listing. One feature we do like is that the individual offer is extended and robust.
People who are looking for information on the internet concerning web traffic, go to the site of that law was quoted in this line.
